Hello everybody!

In April 2004, when I applied for a PhD position in Medical Physics to McGill University in Montreal, I didn't know I was changing my life.

Just by coincidence (or am I so good?), Frank Verhaegen chose me as a good canditate, so here I am!

I had to leave the famous group of physicists working on the Pixel Detector of ATLAS Experiment at CERN. I really do miss you, guys! I hope you'll visit me, once you come to Montreal. I wish you luck with the detector, and I hope it will work! So do you, right? ;-)

Thus, I've been living in Montreal for already one month. After the first-week confusion, I've been being quite well. I'm not taking any classes this semester, I'm just working on my PhD project in the General Hospital of Montreal. It concerns improvement of Monte Carlo treatment planning. Nowadays, I'm reading papers about Computed Tomography, especially about stoichiometric CT calibration.

The main purpose of the webpage is to inform my Czech friends (and my parents, of course) about my life here. I'm not sure I'll always find time to add some text in English, nevertheless, you can have a look on pictures I took. There should appear an English description if you point on a picture.

At some point, a guestbook should be available. I'd like you to send me comments on the page. (It's ready now.)

ENJOY!
